FOCUS Professionals: Commerce for All

Choosing a path after Plus Two commerce

A plain-language guide to the options after Plus Two commerce: B.Com, BBA and professional qualifications such as CA, CMA and ACCA.

Start with what you enjoy

Commerce opens several routes. Some students like auditing and tax rules, some prefer costing and business performance, and others want an international finance career. Asking which kind of work you would enjoy is a better starting point than asking which course is most popular.

The main routes

Most commerce students consider a combination of a degree and a professional qualification.

  • Degree routes: B.Com or BBA, followed by M.Com or MBA if you wish to continue.
  • National professional routes: Chartered Accountancy (CA) and CMA India.
  • International routes: ACCA (UK) and CMA USA.

Check the rules at the source

Entry rules, registration deadlines, exam patterns and fees are set by each professional body and can change. Before deciding, read the current information on the official website and talk to an advisor about how a plan would fit your timetable.
